College Life, As Told By "Seinfeld"

Hi, my name is George, I'm unemployed, and I live with my parents.

I don't know about you guys, but I've definitely thought on more than one occasion that my life should be made into a hit television show. Seinfeld was an amazingly funny '90's sitcom that detailed the lives of four friends: Jerry, Kramer, Elaine, and George. The group is hilariously unlucky in many regards, just trying to make it in the "big apple." As a college student, life can be rough, and getting through it is a lot easier when you learn to laugh at yourself just as the world has laughed at these characters for so many years. So, keep trying to convince yourself that you have it all together, because in the wise words of George Costanza, "It's not a lie if you believe it."

1. Realizing you have to do things for yourself now

I hate doing laundry with a passion, don't clean my room as much as I probably should and still only know how to cook using a microwave, but it's fine.

2. Reuniting with your friends

After winter/spring breaks, a long weekend, or even just at a bar on a Friday night, these people are your family, and you wouldn't want it any other way.

3. Making a pact to be ~healthy~

No matter how long it lasts, it's the thought that counts.

4. Procrastinating everything

Write my paper or watch another episode? "Continue watching."

5. When you wake up ten minutes before class

Makeup is not a thing, but unfortunately, running is.

6. Trying to find the perfect seat in class

These girls in my philosophy class saved literally eight seats the other day? Okay? But also finding the perfect spot where you can see the board and use your phone without being noticed is a feat.

7. Being hungover in class after a night out

The fact that my eyes are even open right now is unbelievable. Please do not call on me to answer a question, or I will get up and walk out.

8. How you look taking pictures before a night out

You do you girl – find that perfect angle, wear as little as possible even though it's 30 degrees out; I support it.

9. How you look at your friend from across the frat/bar when she can do so much better

Do not make out with him! Debra, do I have to come over there myself and stop you? Because you know I will!

10. Trying to remember what happened last night

I still have my phone, ID, and wallet so whatever it was couldn't have been that bad, right?

11. Any conversation with a professor

Whether you're at office hours asking a question or interviewing for an internship, it's important to make a good impression, even though college professors have learned to see right through the facade.

12. The struggle of wanting a boy but knowing your worth as a woman in college

FEMINISM! Women & gender studies and current events all tell us we don't need a man, but sadly, we sort of feel like we do.

13. Being judged for everything

It takes a while to learn to let it all go, but once you stop criticizing everything about yourself and others, it is so liberating!

14. Killing it with your friends at all times

College rules! We rule! Love life!

I owe my dad a great debt of gratitude for introducing me to this cast of characters who make me feel a lot better about myself consistently. I aspire to be as hilarious as they each are, although maybe not as hapless, even if it does make for good comedy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
