College life is hard.

Especially when it's barely your first year. Away from home, away from your mom's amazing cooking and away from your especially comfy bed. However, there is nothing like a good show on Netflix to get you through it all. The people on Gossip Girl are your typical teenagers, well except for the fact they are rich and live on the Upper East Side. They too, have to go to college, so I though why not incorporate the college life and how gossip girl fits perfectly right in

1. When the people outside your dorm are being loud and it's already past quiet time.

2. When your roommate tells you this time she will stay in, rather than going out. Even though she has said that for the past 5 weeks and she always does the opposite.

3. When you have three essays due and two exams tomorrow but instead you decided to go to the cafeteria and stress eat.

4. When you have an eight A.M class but you stayed up till three the night before watching re-runs of "The Office".

5. When the deadline is at 12 but you barely have one page so you just wing it.

6. When you get your midterm back and you actually did better than you though.

7. When your friends tell you to get off your laptop and actually enjoy college life.

8.When your professor moves the deadline one day earlier and you still haven't even done the outline.

9.When you're halfway done with the semester and you still don't understand half of what your major is about.

10. When your roommate brides you with food into letting her borrow your favorite pair of heels and you can't refuse because duh it's food!

9.When someone in your 8 am lecture is way too talkative

11. When you're taking an online quiz and you don't know anything on it.

12. And when it's finally time to go home for the holidays and forget all about school and those papers you have to do.

XOXO,

Gossip Girl.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
