“ I want to be beautiful and make you stand in awe look inside my heart and be amazed I want to hear you say who I am is quite enough I just want to be worthy to love and beautiful”
Bethany Dillon, “Beautiful”
Those words fill my heart and bring me such joy. I think everyone desires to feel that way. So when hearts are crushed and the hurt seeps in, we feel unworthy. At times, it is hard to realize what is truly important: You are enough and always will be for God. If you haven’t read Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge, I highly recommend it. The theme of the book is unveiling the mystery of a woman’s soul. It is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read, which is where most of the inspiration for this article comes from.
Know that you are beautiful
As a little girl, I played dress up often. Now I don’t know about you, but there was something about it that always made be feel beautiful inside. As we get older, we lose sight of that feeling and forget how truly beautiful we are. Psalm 45:11 states, “the King is enthralled by your beauty." Let that sink in. The Almighty Creator of this earth is star struck by OUR beauty. He created you in a beautiful and perfect way, so know that you are enough and find the beauty in yourself, but also in others. It is so easy to get caught up in all the negativity around you, so make sure you space yourself from those things. Whether it’s bad eating habits or those toxic friendships, you need to leave it in 2015 and not let them take over your 2016. Make the most out of each day and know how beautiful you are.
Know that you are the crescendo to God’s work in someone else’s life
Some may call me crazy, but I am a hopeless romantic and always will be. I believe that there is a soul mate out there for me and that I am the “crescendo” in their story. Let me explain, in the book Captivating, they talk about the Crown of Creation and how God created Adam and Eve, and how crucial Eve’s role is as a woman. They state, “She is the crescendo, the final, astonishing work of God. Woman. In one last flourish creation comes to a finish with Eve." To know that God is preparing me to be that for someone someday is breathtaking.
Most importantly know that you don’t have to seek approval from others
I am probably the most guilty of this. I put so much weight into what others think of me instead of caring about what my Father thinks of me. So stop seeking approval and start seeking after the ONE who truly matters. Know that you are enough and you will see things slowly take a change in your life for the better.
