It's here it's here it's finally here! Christmas break! My heart is literally exploding with joy at the fact I get to be home and reunited with my dog, my bed that is a real mattress, home cooked meals, and last but not least, my mother!!!!!! I am so stinking excited to annoy the woman who birthed me in her very own house for four weeks straight!!!

Here are ten lovely thoughts that I, along with every college gal has straight from the heart upon being reunited with their OG best friend:

1. Rachael Ray ain't got nothin' on you

These breadsticks? Wow. This pasta? Wow. Homemade pizza? Are you kidding me?! Your cooking is honestly resurrecting my soul right now, I can only eat so much Chick-fil-a. If you were to mail me food would that be cheap for you?? Would it go bad?

2. I literally have so much to tell you.

I know we call and text on the regular, and I know our Snapchat streak is alive and well, but there's so much more I have to tell you to your face. So much has slipped my mind and there's so much embarrassing info I have you deserve to know!!!!!!

3. Please don't wake me, this bed is the most comfortable thing I have experienced in three months.

I love you more than life and I cannot wait to spend time with you either, but if we could do it after 10 am, that would be awesomesauce. My mattress topper is not only super annoying, but while away at college, I get up at the crack of dawn every. Single. Day.

4. Clothes shopping? I think yes.

Now that I'm an actual adult living a semi-adult life, I actually no longer wish to dress like a 12 year old girl, or boy for that matter, and the wardrobe makeover I am currently undergoing is super duper exciting, and I would love your fashion taste and credit card to help me along the way!!!! (plus we can totally share)

5. Grocery shopping? Please buy me everything in bulk.

I hate eating on campus. Just no. please no. I wish the trunk of my car was a freezer so I could take veggies and meats acquired by your costco membership card back to college with me. Actually, is that possible?

6. Why didn't you raise all of my peers?

Not to brag, but I totally hit the jackpot when it comes to moms. Not only does she rock, but I kinda rock too as a result. My peers, not so much. Where are his manners!?! What on earth is she wearing!?! People are scary!!! Mom help!!!!!

7. Can I have this recipe???

I love cooking at home, but lately I've just been rotating between the same four pasta recipes. Variety is the spice of life, so could you write this meal down for me? I promise to send you a pic if I successfully cook it. Or if I unsuccessfully cook it.

8. Can you come back to college with me???

I high key miss you, like, all the stinking time. I would much rather be working out or shopping with you than binge reading about the history of America. So, just come visit me all the time and it will feel like we aren't apart as often!

9. Thank you for loving and supporting me from afar.

College is super difficult, and I really appreciate all your love and care, even when it's from three and a half hours away. Whether it's a picture of the dog or a care package in the mail, I am so thankful for all you do for me to make sure I won't be a college dropout!

10. I love you so so very much!!!!!

Mom, you are the bomb.tamu.edu and I can't imagine being who or where I am today without you! I am so thankful for you, all you do for me, and the life you help me live! I love you!!

Xoxo, your college gal

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
