Home will always be home. It's where you grew up and have all of your childhood memories with your siblings, cousins and best friends. It's where you were disciplined and taught your manners by everyone, where you learned about Jesus and put what you learned to good use. Where Football Friday's were a big part of your life for the past 18 years and it feels so good to be home for one.

When you were in elementary, you thought the high school kids were so big and loved when they came to your school to play with you on the playground. Before you knew it, you were that big kid. On football Friday's in elementary, you put the tattoos on your face that you were so happy to buy earlier that week. If you were lucky you would get to go to the pep rally, and when you did you thought you were so cool. Later, you would go to the football game and cheer when the rest of the crowd did. You would be wearing your little cheerleading outfit or football jersey because you couldn't wait to be out on that field to make your town proud.

Whenever I was that big kid that went to the elementary school to play with the little kids, I remember how much I looked up to the big kids that were once in my shoes. The kids watched our every move and tried so hard to impress us with how far they could chunk a football, how fast they could run or how great their cartwheels were. It's sweet moments like that that make me proud of where I come from and another reason that home is where the heart is.

Football Friday nights have a completely different meaning when you get older. In college, you're more worried about what you're going to do that weekend and who you're going to hang out with at the tailgate. No matter what, always remember your home. Remember your memories and cherish them. Never forget your manners. Always say, ma'am/sir. A lot of young adults don't have manners and it's so nice to hear some, especially when that person is off at college and away from their home. Most of all, continuing to learn about Jesus is and always will be important. He will be there to give you guidance when you feel lost and alone. He will be your best friend at all times if you allow Him too. Stay true to your roots and remember where you came from. Although things change in life, like moving away from everything you've ever known to go to college with all new people, home never will.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
