Just last week, I finished my first year at college and let me tell you, what an experience it was! I made so many new friends, learned a lot of new things and had an amazing time! It took some time to get used to living on my own, but it got easier as time passed. One hard part, for me, about being at college was not being able to see my family everyday, and being a very family oriented person, it was a little difficult, but I made it work.

Living on-campus for my freshman year is a decision I will never regret. It made my first year at college a million times better because of my awesome roommate and neighbors. To anyone thinking of whether to live on-campus or not, I would say do it, you really get the full college experience. Living on campus had brought me a lot of diversity, and I loved it! There were people from so many different places and people with different ethnicities and religions. It was an awesome experience to be able to live with so many different people.

There were so many new things I learned this past year. Not just academically, but also about others, and especially myself as a person. After living with my family for 18 years, I was finally going to live on my own, something that had me both excited and nervous. I wasn’t going to have my parents or siblings there for me when I needed something. I was going to be on my own, having to figure things out for myself, not having anyone there for me.

To say that this last year was a great year would be an understatement. My first year at college was such an amazing experience! There are things that happened this last year I will never forget! It was truly an amazing year with amazing people. My friends weren’t the only people who made this last year great, I also had some great professors that definitely made this last year better.

Growing up, I was always nervous that my college professors were going to be really strict and mean. Pretty stereotypical, I know. But let me tell you, they were not like that at all. I don’t know if I just got lucky, or if all of the professors at my school are the same, but I had some pretty amazing and awesome professors. This by far was one of the major things that made my first year at college that much better.

There’s one thing I’m sad about though, and that is, how fast the year went by. I still remember checking in for football, and meeting my roommate for the first time, and moving all of my stuff into my dorm. I’m really going to miss all the great times I had this year, I will never forget some of the things that happened this last year. I cannot wait for my next year at college to start!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
