Ah, April. The month full of budding flowers, the temperate spring breeze, and the best part of all: preparing for finals. For college students, the month of April isn't as relaxing and peaceful as it is for some other people. Whether you're a freshman finishing up your first year of college, or a senior getting ready to enter the "real world", this month is often noticeably more stressful than any other. From final papers, projects, and exams, to the realization that you're about to spend 3 months (or more if you're graduating) away from the friends you've just made and grown close to, April responsibilities and activities can easily feel very overwhelming. Here are just some times where How I Met Your Mother perfectly captured what it feels like to be a college student in April.
1. When your professors say that there are only 2 weeks left of school:
2. When you realize that it's been 8 months since move-in day:
3. When your professors tell you that you won't do well if you procrastinate:
4. When you finally finish that 12-page paper:
5. When you suddenly remember that one project due tomorrow that you've barely started:
6. When you're studying and realize how little you remember from earlier in the semester:
7. When you think you finally understand something, check the answer, and find out you were wrong:
8. When you've been studying for 7 hours straight:
9. When you stay up really late studying and suddenly anything is more interesting than what you're studying for:
10. When you give yourself a pep talk before going into an exam:
11. When you are taking a final exam and suddenly forget everything you've ever learned:
12. When you finish your last final exam/assignment:
13. When you and your college friends finally have to part ways:
14. When your older friends are graduating or transferring and you realize you won't see them very much anymore:
15. When you and your friends are finally done with finals and realize that you survived a year of college together:
This time of year is very stressful, and some of that is inevitable. However, there are many ways you can survive these next few weeks with minimal damage to your body and mind. Good luck, and happy studying!
