1. Professors Don't Care If You Attend Class
Yes, students at my school are supposed to go to class everytime it's scheduled. But, if you don't show up, the professors don't care. They won't give you what you missed unless you approach them. In some classes, if you miss an exam, you can't even make it up another day.
2. Just Because I Had 8am Classes In HIgh School, Doesn't Mean It's Achievable In College
I'm only in my third semester of college, and I've had three 8am classes in all. I thought that because I started school so early in high school, I could do it in college too. Man, was I wrong. College, I have come to realize, takes so much more effort to get through the day without falling asleep. I'm a very tired person aside from that fact, so I need all the sleep I can get, even if that means having classes that end later so I can stay in bed longer.
3. It's Easier To Make Friends
I didn't have the best high school experience: I certainly had friends, but not the ones I should have been friends with. That problem still exists in college, but I find it easier to connect with people that are more like me. No one really cares what you do, what you wear, etc.
4. Much More Studying
I was a hard-worker in high school, but nothing like this. In college, I pretty much have a test every week, and if not a test, then a quiz. Exams are an extremely important part of your grades, that I couldn't have realized sooner. Therefore, I care a lot more to do well and succeed. To do that, my weekends, and weekdays for that matter, pretty much consist of studying. Not much else.
5. There Isn't As Much Partying As Expected
Now, that might just be the college I go, which is, in fact, a Christian college, but I still expected some partying, none that I wanted to take part in, though. At my school, the only parties that take place are very, very innocent. No alcohol, no drugs, at least on campus there isn't.
