Twas the night before finals, when all through the dorms
Not a student was sleeping, though their beds were warm.
Their bags were packed and ready to go,
everyone was ready to go home and lay low.
High school children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While the college students acquired more debts.
But we get to go out after curfew to get a midnight snack,
while they settle in and figure out why we don’t go back.
Then the clock strikes at dawn,
And you can’t believe how much time has gone.
You look around and all you see are notes,
Most of the information in your head just floats. So you grab your bags and rush out the door,
hoping that you don't trip on the snow and have your face meet the floor.
You slip across the sidewalk,
cursing as others try to make small talk.
You finally make it to your first final
and before you know it you're walking out of the last one.
And a smile breaks onto your face as you exclaim,
"that was child's play!"
Now go enjoy your Christmas,
and forget about those shots you might have missed.
Be with family and forget for a while,
that this was only the first part of the long college mile.
