College, As Told By Drake Lyrics

"Shot for Me"

"Can't you see that I made it? Yeah I made it"

Throwback to all the kids from your high school and hometown! Looking back, you know how much better off you are being separated from your high school self. Sometimes it really feels like you’re better now than you ever have been and it feels like you’ve made it.

"And you're wasted with your ladies/Yeah I'm the reason why you always getting faded"

The perfect line for girls’ nights out, especially one right after a break up. Sometimes the best reason for going out with all your girls is because of a rough patch with a special someone (or ex special someone).

"Hotline Bling"

"You used to call me on my cell phone/Late night when you need my love"

Shoutout to the guy you talked to for about a day and a half who decided it was okay to use you as a booty call.

'Cause ever since I left the city,/you started wearing less and goin' out more/Glasses of champagne out on the dance floor/Hangin’ with some girls I've never seen before"

This fairly accurately describes one's first experience with being able to go out in college. New girls to make friends with and a new city—the only difference is that, unfortunately, glasses of champagne are hard to come by.

"Marvin's Room"

"I’m just sayin’ you could do better/Tell me have you heard that lately?"

With the constant hook up culture frequently seen in college, sometimes it’s nice to hear this. This is what your friends will say when you want to talk to that disrespectful and arrogant frat boy you’re strangely attracted to.

"Over"

"I know way too many people here right now that I didn't know last year/who the f*** are y’all?"

This line perfectly describes college students—especially college freshmen— because of how many new people you meet all the time. I’ve often found myself looking around a room and realizing how many people I’ve met so far who I didn’t even know existed even a few months ago.

"I'm living life right now man/and this what I'm do 'til it's over/’til it's over, it's far from over"

College is all about figuring yourself out and having the time of your life (while working hard of course). So many people say that college was the best four years of their life, so it’s important to take advantage of it because soon it’ll be “over.”

"I'm really too young to be feeling this old"

This line is for all the people who are attempting to balance internships, jobs and challenging classes all before the age of 22. In this case, it’s easy to feel a lot older than you actually are.

"Make me proud"

"Sound so smart like you graduated college"

Drake states all of our goals in this one line.

"Weekend in Miami trying to study by the pool/Couple things due but you always get it done"

Even when you’re on breaks or vacations, there is truly always something to work on. Impressively, the person Drake is rapping about gets it all done which is what we all strive for.

"The Motto"

"Now she want a photo"

It’s no secret that our generation loves to take photos. As Drake eloquently puts it, girls are always asking for photos with all their best pals.

"You only live once, that's the motto"

YOLO—enough said.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
