Coffee (noun): The drink that turns anybody into a morning person and allows us to get through a busy day. Many of us love coffee, myself included, and drink it on a daily basis. Besides water, which we need to survive, coffee is the best drink out there. Here are 5 reasons why.

1. Coffee helps to wake you up

The caffeine in coffee helps to give us a much-needed kick in the morning, especially for those of us who get up early. Once you drink your coffee, you are ready to conquer the day!

2. Coffee has health benefits

Drink your coffee with pride! Research shows that moderate coffee consumers (about 3 to 4 cups a day) will live longer and may have a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and uterine and liver cancer.

3. There are an endless amount of coffee drinks

Mochas, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, black, with cream, with sugar, and so much more. The number of flavors and drinks you can make with coffee is infinite, along with the different blends of coffee beans.

4. Latte art is beautiful

It's amazing to see how baristas make different patterns and shapes on top of lattes; it's definitely a form of art. Sometimes, the lattes even look too pretty to actually drink.

5. Coffee houses have amazing atmospheres

Nothing beats going to a coffee house to get a cup of coffee; they have tasty drinks, many options, and are the perfect place to study or meet up with old friends. Bonding over a cup of coffee is the best way to bond!

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
