These days it seems like Coachella is a household name when it comes to music festivals. Each year when the festival pops up in LA the whole country is there, even if it is vicariously though your favorite celebrity's Instagram. From what we have all seen on social media, it seems like Coachella had another incredible year.
“So much talent is concentrated in one massive area,” said Adam Miko, LA resident and Coachella attendee. “A lot of the press the festival gets solely speaks of the celebrities and influencers attending, and the most expensive outfits and the star-studded parties, but the vibe when you're there feels like a giant group of people coming together to celebrate music and art. Nothing more, nothing less.”
Headliners such as Ellie Goulding the Chainsmokers, Disclosure, Zedd, Major Lazer and so many more wowed the crowds for two weekends. The festival had six stages filled with high energy performances.
“My favorite stage is tied between Mojave and Coachella. I saw some incredible performances on both. Weekend one I couldn't believe when Disclosure brought out Aluna George, Lorde and Sam Smith in the same set. My friends and I were stunned," Miko said. "That same weekend, BØRNS put on an undeniable and unforgettable performance at the Mojave stage. It was less about the stages and more about the music to me and a lot of festival goers. The music and art made the stage."
“Gallant was definitely a highlight of the festival. I remember both weekends people walked out of Mojave speechless and if they weren't speechless they were saying he put on one of the best festival performances they've ever witnessed,” he said.
When asked who the best performers of the weekend were Miko answered, “I have a few favorites in no particular order. Gallant, BØRNS, Matoma, Miike Snow, Louis The Child, Disclosure, Sia, Ellie Goulding and RUFUS DU SOL. All of these acts put on performances that I'll remember for a very long time to come."
He said the energies they gave off were all positive and the passion they put into their performances was incomparable.
He described the atmosphere at the festival as “positive, friendly and peaceful." Miko went on to say, “Everyone I met and connected with had an incredible energy to them. There's something about the festival that really brings out the best in people.”
Good music and good vibes, looks like it is time to start gearing and saving up for Coachella 2017.
