In light of the recent deaths of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, there are many different emotions that are spreading across multiple generations. For some, Debbie Reynolds was part of the wonderful trio in "Singin' In The Rain," while for others she was the grandma in "Halloweentown." Yet for Carrie Fisher, most knew her has the amazing and fierce princess in "Star Wars." Even though many people are crushed by the deaths of these two wonderful ladies, as well as the other actors and singers that passed away during 2016, there is something we must all remember. Don't let the classics die with those who are gone. Now, I know this is something that always gets said about great legends, but it shouldn't apply to just the greats, it should apply to all. In this case, you aren't going to stop watching "Harry Potter" because Alan Rickman is gone or stop listening to music because David Bowie died. No you're probably going to watch and listen to them even more.
This is the reason why we need to cherish classics such as "Singin' In The Rain," "Halloweentown," "Harry Potter," and "Star Wars." These movies all have memorable actors and stories in them, and just because someone from the movie is lost, does not mean we should blame unwanted things. In the end, we should be teaching the younger generation about the great actors that have come and gone because even though the greats may be gone, we can have a hand in who the next greats will be. By being able to cherish, appreciate, and teach from these great classics, we can go on to inspire the next generation to take on those roles of being the next Carrie Fishers or David Bowies.
So no matter what happens or who is gone and who isn't, we should still cherish the works of those who have passed. These different pieces have helped shape our entertainment's history and what it is today, as well as many of these actors. We can even honor these actors by helping keep their legacies alive through continuing to watch and appreciate their works. Plus, who doesn't love watching a movie or maybe binge watching all of the "Star Wars" movies in one day. No matter what, the classics will always stay the classics and they will never cease to not be wonderful.
In the end, we must look back on the classics, in order to be able to grow in the future. It is never a bad thing to look back to the classics for help to grow and get better. No matter what, the classics are always going to be around and there are many reasons to cherish the classics. But after everything that has happened, it is always fun to go and have a classic movie night and just sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful movies that we grew up on.
