I don't know about you, but Christmas is my favorite holiday! Not only do you not have to do homework, but you get presents, get to be in a super festive mood, and spend quality time with family you haven't seen in ages. Here are the events of Christmas, as told by Rebecca Bunch from the CW show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (which I highly recommend, and comes on every Friday at 9):

1. When you take your last final and realize that you're finally free!

2. So you decide that you want to relax and not look at a textbook for at least another month.

3. And finally, it's Christmas Eve and you can hardly wait!

4. So you decide to watch some Hallmark Christmas movies!

4. But then you realize that you will never find your true love on Christmas...

5. And you have to shut the movies off because they're making you feel depressed rather than putting you in the Christmas spirit.

6. So you finally decide to go to sleep, but hopefully you'll wake up tomorrow in a good mood!

7. Christmas is finally here! But you have to wait for all your relatives to get here to start opening presents.

8. As your relatives start coming, they start asking about your future and your love life...

9. But all you want to do is open presents.

10. And finally, you get to open presents! You're just wishing that you get money, tbh.

11. Now the second best part of Christmas comes: the food.

12. While at the dinner table, your family continues to ask you about your life, so you try to be as vague and optimistic as possible.

13. But in reality, you know you'd be a disappointment.

14. So you and your cousins sneak over the dessert table and start drowning yourselves in cookies and wine.

15. And in spite of seeing your crazy family, you're glad you got to spend time with them on this special day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
