Is there any better way to spend the holiday season than to snuggle up and watch some festive movies? Whether you like Christmas or hate this time of year, I suggest catching up on some of these holiday classics. There are some really great holiday movies out there. Here are just a few of my favorites!

8. "The Santa Clause"

Whether you like the first, second or third "The Santa Clause," these movies are classics. Tim Allen stars in this hilarious movie about becoming Santa. If you haven't seen these movies, you should definitely incorporate them into your next movie night.

7. "Miracle on 34th Street"

I watched this (short) movie for the first time this Christmas season. I enjoyed it and loved the "old-time" feel the movie gave as well as the message the movie portrayed.

6. "A Year Without Santa Claus"

I think I enjoy this movie just for the catchy songs. Snow Miser and Heat Miser are what really make this movie great! The awkward elf is pretty cute, too.

5. "Elf"

Everyone knows the movie, "Elf." It is a quirky, funny flick that really captures the Christmas spirit at its finest. Though it is a bit overplayed, it is still one of my favorite movies. It seems to have become too mainstream within the last couple of years.

4. "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

This movie says a lot without saying much at all. This is another classic that I'm sure most everyone has seen, but it's still is one of my all-time favorites!

3. "Christmas Vacation"

Whether it be the giant Christmas tree, the malfunctioning lights or the quirky family, this movie has been one of my favorites since I was a young kid! It is a classic must-see for the holiday season.

2. "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas"

"The Grinch" is a classic movie during the Christmas season. I love the more recent version from 2000. All of the holiday cheer and the fun styles that "the Whos" wear really add to the movie. The Grinch himself is pretty hilarious, too. You learn to love his loathing with every little comment he makes.

1. "The Polar Express"

My all-time favorite Christmas movie has to be "The Polar Express." Although the movie seems a little dark at times, I love the fact that you get to leave certain parts to your imagination. I believe that everyone who watches this movie thinks of it in different ways and, to me, that is super cool. And, let's be honest, the songs are pretty great, too!

Christmas is quickly on its way! Spend a weekend catching up on these holiday classics to get you in the spirit of the season. Who knows, maybe they'll become some of your favorites, too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
