My favorite thing: Christmas Movies. My least favorite thing: Finals. What would happen if you mashed the two together? Procrastination? Maybe. Wishing to be home cuddling my puppy? Heck Yes! An idea for an Odyssey article? Why not!

1. "What's this?" from Nightmare Before Christmas

Why does everything look brand new? We most certainly did not learn this in lecture.

2. "Smiling's my favorite" from Elf

On the outside, it looks like I am happy happy joy but on the inside, I am freaking out about the tests and the projects and the teachers that won't stop giving out homework.

3. "Hate" from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Course Evals are when the truth comes out. Finally, you can write an in-depth essay about how much you loathe that one teacher. You know which one I am talking about!

4."Christmas Tree" from Charlie Brown's Christmas

This is me walking down the street with what little sanity I have left. Just a small little tree that needs a break to grow!

5."The List" from Elf

There is an endless list of things I MUST do before finals and none of them are as fun as Will's list above. Instead, I get more and more things to do that the professor want's done yesterday.

6."I believe" from Polar Express

This is me trying to believe in myself while I study. Also me trying to believe there is a slight chance my professors will curve the test. A girl can dream, right?

7. "Finally Figuring it out" from A Christmas Story

You know that feeling when the information just clicks together. The one after hours of studying one subject you finally feel somewhat confident about it. Yeah, that's a great feeling!

8. "Jumping on the bed" from Home Alone

This is me, ignoring all my responsibilities and eating chocolate. I am sorry but if there is an advent calendar all I see is chocolate. I like to think of it as a calendar a day, not a chocolate a day.

9. "Sick in Bed" from Year Without A Santa Clause

It is cold out. The library is too far. I'm not feeling it today. Whatever excuse works cause I am not getting out of bed today.

10. "Train" from Polar Express

Finals is like a fast moving train without the breaks. If you don't know this scene from Polar Express please go look it up. It is the perfect explanation for finals week. We are on sliding ice and by some miracle make it back on the tracks.

Happy Studying

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
