Christmas Gifts for the Zelda Fan In Your Life

Christmas is right around the corner, and so is the release of the brand new Zelda game, Breath of the Wild. Well, not exactly. It's set to release sometime in 2017... but at least we are one step closer! Here is a list of some of the coolest Zelda merch for that Link-loving nerd in your life who just can't wait to play Breath of the Wild.

1. This sweet Hylian shield replica...

I mean come on, who wouldn't love this? It's gorgeous and looks so well made. It's also currently $395 on Etsy... You know, for the really DEDICATED nerds.

2. This stained-glass Zelda lamp...

This was made by hand by a seller on Etsy. It features a plywood and pine base and the words "Zelda Lightforce, the force of the golden light, embodied in Hyrule's princess, shone forth upon the lands" engraved in Hylian.

YES.

3. And of course there's always this amazing Zelda cosplay outfit...

One of the most high quality ones I've ever seen. Maybe for the special Zelda-loving lady in your life?

4. How about some Zelda shot glasses?

Because why not? "Hey! Listen!"... to me, and buy these.

5. This real ACTUALLY FUNCTIONING Ocarina complete with songbook...

Honestly, who wouldn't want this? I would play it all day long. And look how glossy and smooth it is!

6. This Link... bust?

I really don't know what you could do with this aside from creepily setting it on your mantle. But it's so detailed and cool, right?!

7. This Legend of Zelda handmade quiver...

This quiver, also for sale on Etsy, was crafted from three individual cuts of thick Craftsman Oak Leaf leather, and the designs were hand drawn and hand tooled into the face with a hammer and leather chisels. Then it was dyed, and the Tri-force triangles were each meticulously gold-leafed. The inside is lined with red suede. In other words... it is very well-made. Worth the price tag.

8. Or...

Of course you could just pre-order the Breath of the Wild game for the special Zelda-nerd in your life. Your choice!

The Legend of Zelda is such an old, and widely-loved franchise, there is TONS of amazing merch. This list doesn't even come close to covering some of the incredible items you can find out there. If you've got a Zelda fan in your life this Christmas... happy hunting!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
