I love cookies as much as the next person, but making Christmas cookies are the best during the holiday. Especially, when your family goes all out with baking each year making almost ten different kinds. Making cookies, but just baking in general is so much fun and the outcome is so worth it! So, here are some types of cookies I make each year that you might even know about:

1. Chocolate Chip Cookies

The classic chocolate chip cookies are one of the best types of cookies especially when they are still warm and the chocolate chips are all soft and runny.

2. Sugar Cookies

This type of cookie is great for the person with a sweet tooth, but is still an all time favorite because of that sweet vanilla flavor. You can do so much with this type of cookie too. Like make drop cookies, or cut outs, and you can even make the popular kind with frosting and sprinkles/jimmies.

3. Snickerdoodles

Another classic type of cookie, but that is rolled in cinnamon sugar and baked to perfection.

4. Peanut Butter Cookies

As long as you don't have a peanut allergy and like peanut butter, you may like these cookies. You could make these with creamy or crunchy peanut butter even with different kinds of nut butters like cashew or sunflower seed.

5. Peanut Butter Blossoms

This is variation of the peanut butter cookie, but instead while they are still warm you put a Hershey kiss in the middle and it becomes a delightful combination.

6. Coconut Cookies

Coconut cookies are a different type of cookie, but are still absolutely delicious. If you like almond joys or mounds, you'd definitely like these. They just don't have chocolate on them, but I'm sure you could put some on them if you wanted.

7. Oatmeal Cookies

These type of cookies definitely have a love/hate relationship with most. You can add really anything to them whether it be chocolate chips or raisins. I personally love both. It has a very comforting taste and can is a great holiday cookie.

There are many types of Christmas cookies that people can make and enjoy. Its great to try new ones each year and cookies are a great type of dessert that is easy to make and everyone can help make them. You can bring people together when you make them together and its the best and most fun thing to during the holidays.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
