Taping something on my steering wheel was a much better idea in my head. I managed to have three corners taped down pretty successfully but the fourth pops up about every thirty seconds. I push it down and by the time I need to turn again it is in my way. I kept it like that for probably six hours total of driving until I got the brilliant idea to put more tape on the edges of the tape that kept popping up. And guess what? I haven't had a problem since.

Where in the world am I going with that? Let me tell you. For some reason that piece of tape was too weak on its own to accomplish its purpose. It wasn't until I surrounded it with more tape to hold it down and support it that it was able to be successful. The Bible makes it clear that we are exactly like that.

Paul tells us how important being connected to other believers by saying "And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased" in Hebrews 13:6. We are told in this verse not to neglect this and that it pleases God. What better reason to make surrounding ourselves with other believers a priority? It pleases our Creator! This is what He wants. If it is His design for us to do this, we will not be successful outside of obedience in this. No wonder Paul says not to neglect it!

Not only does this please our God but as Psalm 133:1 exclaims, "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" God is not commanding us to do this so it will be a burden or a waste of time. This verse says it is good and pleasant, and of course it is telling the truth!

In God's perfect design this will look as 1 Corinthians 12:25-26 explains it: "so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it." This can not happen while people refuse to be involved because of minor things they do not like.

There are over 300,000 churches in America. God has told us this is not something to neglect. When we obey Him and allow ourselves to be unified with other believers we find a wonderful group of believers to encourage us, rejoice with us, mourn with us, and simply do life with us. God asks us to do this because of His design for our lives, why not see what He can do through it?

Finally, my little brother has asked that I end my article with a very deep quote from him. So please take this to heart : "I like potatoes and watermelon."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
