So You Screwed Up: What It's Like To Choose The Wrong 'Pokemon Go' Team

It's a struggle when you're the only one of your friends who chose your Pokemon Go team.

So, you chose the team that none of your friends happen to be on, every gym in your town is owned by one of the other two teams and you're alone in your quest to catch them all and or finally win a gym.

Let's walk through the daily struggles of being on the "wrong" team.

You're trying to win a gym. It just isn't working. You're alone in your quest because you chose the wrong team and if you're like me, you also waited a few days to get the app in hopes that maybe you could convince yourself you didn't really need it. Of course, you folded, but now you are a few days and levels behind and it just seems impossible to catch up. Plus, you can't just supplement a gym because everyone in your town just happened to choose whatever team you didn't.

Playing with friends, this doesn't happen. You can't go and try to take gyms together because you're on different teams and they happened to choose the team that already has all of the gyms in your town. So, while they're training with friendly gyms, you're just constantly trying to win wars already stacked against you because you started a few days late. And, all of your Pokemon keep fainting so you have to keep running to Poke Stops in hopes to pick up a revive or a potion.

The memes. You've already shared at least one meme about how Instinct eats glue or how Mystic is for severely disabled people or even how Valor is just a bunch of power hungry nuts. And you've also been viciously attacked with memes after your friends realized you just insulted them on an atomic level.

Team Mystic. This team is the most popular of Pokemon Go. Here calmness, wisdom, and intellect rule supreme. This tranquility rarely lasts though because Team Mystic players are usually brutally attacking the other players with memes. That or you just decided to choose this team because you like the color blue. Just understand that this team does not make you cool. And, if you other friends chose Team Instinct or Team Valor, you're just going to have to suck it up and take their gym.

Team Instinct. Well, very few people are members of this team. If you chose this, it appealed you to you because of the innate trust you have in your Pokemon. And maybe, with some hope, trust, and pixie dust you can convince those sorry souls who haven't yet reached level five in Pokemon Go to join your team. But, it's not likely. Everyone and I mean everyone makes fun of this team. But that's okay, maybe you're a fan of the underdog. Either way, if none of your friends chose this team, you're probably lonely and struggling with all of the issues listed above.

Team Valor. Supposedly driven by passion and strength, these players really do want to catch them all. Maybe they seem a little too motivated about playing but it's okay. Even if none of your friends chose this team, they're the ones missing out. You're going to be the best like nobody ever was. Own it.

Whatever team you chose, your friends who made a not so intelligent decision will try to defend their choice . Nobody likes being wrong. That's why there are so many passive aggressive and just outright aggressive memes trashing each team. In all honesty, you downloaded the app, passed level five, and you made a decision that felt right to you. You're automatically the real winner, even if you're the only one of your friends who made a good decision and joined Team Valor.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
