We all know how difficult it can be to end a Netflix show after investing weeks and months into learning about the characters, accepting when they break our hearts, and watching them grow stronger over the seasons we obsess over. When those shows end sometimes we feel lost and unsure what we're supposed to do with our free time. Sometimes the next step really is choosing a new show and investing in another group of characters for nine seasons or so. Here are ways to choose your next Netflix show:
Come to Terms With the End of Your Old Show
It can be hard to end a show, but at some point you have to move on, after all it is just a show. Once you can be at peace with your show ending, you can begin your next journey through another show. After all, there are a whole new set of characters waiting for your acquaintance.
Ask Others What They're Watching
Although other people might have different tastes in television shows than you, it never hurts to ask others what they're binging on so you can get an idea of what's out there. It's especially smart to ask people who have the same taste in show as you because they actually might be watching something that you could be interested in starting as well.
Ask Friends For Ideas
Even if they're not watching something you're interested in or something you've already watched, they might've watched things in the past that you haven't seen yet. Those friends of yours who have similar taste in television show may come up with a really great suggestion that hooks you immediately. Never underestimate the power of your friendships.
Browse Netflix
Honestly this might be your safest option. The more you look through Netflix, the more you realize is out there and can begin finding shows that spark your interest. Netflix is also great at suggesting shows based on things you've recently watched, so that is always something to look through as well. You never know what may lie in those various categories.
Watch a Few Pilot Episodes
Even if you end up spending an entire day trying out new shows, it never hurts to watch a couple pilot episodes to get the gist of how a show might work if you're interested. This is a great way to see if that show is worth binge watching, or if you need to move on to finding another option. Even if you don't watch the entire show, it's a good idea to just try things out and see if you get hooked.
Look On the Actual Television
Yes I know there's a ton of garbage on television these days, but if you channel surf for long enough you might find a show that i=terests you. If you get stuck on a show, you may consider checking if it's on Netflix and watching a few episodes to see if you actually like the show or just got caught up in stupidity of television shows these days.
Catch Up on Old Shows
There are definitely shows out there that you used to watch and have progressed but you haven't caught up with them. Take this time in between Netflix shows to catch up on those shows that you either never finished or continued while you were watching something else. You always forget how great those shows were until you immerse yourself in them again.
And if really can't find anything, then give up and take a nap and try again later.
