Choose To Be Love

Valentine’s week is upon us! I know some people really look forward to February being the month of love because they want to show off their significant other. For others, it might be an excuse to love on themselves or treat some other friends who might be part of the single club. But Valentine's day doesn't have to be about who's in a relationship and who's not.

Despite the amount of eye-rolls you want to give to the people over-posting on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram about their extravagant celebrations and to brag on their SO that pulled out all the stops to make this the *Best V-day EVER!*, life was not intended for us to nitpick at all the things we might disagree with or envy, nor is it to compare our lives next to the ones we mindlessly scroll through on our smartphones and news feeds.

This life was given to us so that we could receive Christ’s love and out of our own abundance, share it with our world! Regardless of how you’re feeling about Valentine’s day this year, I’m challenging you (myself included) to look for ways to love on the people that you love most this week! Whether it’s a small act of bringing them coffee or doing something completely out of the way to make their heart smile, (cheesy, I know - but I don’t care) do it! Be the best version of you to the people that are in your circle! They will appreciate it far more than you know and these seemingly “little” acts of kindness and love might be a foundation of richer, deeper relationships in the seasons to come!

Wherever you go, whatever you do, please remember to act out of the love that is in your heart. Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice out of His great love and adoration for us by dying on the cross. 1 Corinthians 16:14 instructs us: "Let all that you do be done in love" 1 John 4:19 says it this way:

"We love because he first loved us."

Whatever you can do to love on your people this week/ month/ year, take a leap of faith and act on it!! We only have this life once, and I’m focused on being love personified to our hurting world because I want to love on God’s children and show them that His love surpasses any hurt or obstacle that this world can inflict or offer.

Go love on your tribe, people! Start by filling your world with love and the rest of the world will be filled with love too! Hugs!! xx

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
