Why Qdoba Is Better Than Chipotle

I just feel like we need to address why one is better than the other.

Okay guys, we need to have a serious talk. This is something that has come to my attention in the last 5 years of living in a city with both a Qdoba and a Chipotle, and I feel like it's something that needs to be addressed. I ate at Chipotle for the first time in a very long time this week, and I just...I just don't understand the hype. Chipotle is vile. By vile I mean, I don't understand why people eat there and choose to eat there over Qdoba. There is nothing there for me. Nothing.

Okay, so you're probably wondering what gives me the right to make this post about why one is better than the other, right? Well, for starters, I would like to consider myself a connoisseur of Mexican food. I probably eat it at least 4 times a week because it is, and always has been, my favorite. I eat Qdoba maybe twice a month (it gets kinda expensive) and I maybe grace Chipotles presence twice a year. Let me make myself clear here, I don't hate the establishment itself, just the food. Both Chipotle and Qdoba are very nice places, with very nice employees, but there are just a few things I feel should be addressed here, and trust me, I would know.

1. Who wants cold cheese on their burrito?

Not me. When I order a burrito, I want it to be warm, and melty. Chipotle just leaves me feeling sad and disappointed. Queso is life, and shredded, processed cheese just does not cut it for me.

2. Guac

Yes, I know it's extra, and yes, that makes me angry. However, what really gets me is how different their guac tastes from Qdoba's. It just tastes like squished avocados. If I wanted a squished avocado on some rice, I would have just made my own burrito at home.

3. The lack of spice

Okay, I like spicy stuff to an extent, but I feel like my spice levels are not able to be tested at Chipotle. I've tried all their salsas, and they're just not that hot, which is sad. I need that Mexican food spice in my life sometimes.

4. Tortilla chips

My single-handed, worst pet peeve is soggy chips. The three times I've had Chipotle, my chips were soggy and greasy. Who wants to eat that? Also, adding into this category a sub category, and that is the fact I can get Tacos at Qdoba, and not that Chipotle.

5. Options

While I like that Chipotle has more meat options, I hate that they don't have all the extras that Qdoba has when it comes to fillers. I mean, lettuce and cheese are great, but what if I want tortilla strips and cotija cheese? I can't get that, and if I could, it would probably cost extra. Also, LACK OF QUESO.

I'm not here to change your opinion on your choice of restaurant, I'm just here to shed some insight. Burritos are life, and I'm pretty sure I would starve without them. Choose wisely, friends.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
