I am the person that always tends to choose Chick-Fil-A when it's brought up in a conversation on where to eat for supper because you can never go wrong with a #5, 8-count, with Chick-Fil-A sauce and a sweet tea. Sometimes, you have to go big or go home with the 12-count. Oh, and don't forget the milkshake for dessert. But besides the delicious everyday chicken sandwich and that wonderful sauce, Chick-fil-A inspires me in so many other ways.
The other day, I was scrolling through Facebook just like anyone else would do when they get bored. I came up on a post about Chick-Fil-A, something that happens often. This particular post was a picture of the manager praying with a homeless guy. He came in looking for extra food and scraps, and rather than just doing the bare minimum, they gave him a warm meal and prayed for the sweet man. Now if you ask me, that speaks volumes for a restaurant that is always talked about for their views and where they stand as a corporation, and I have a lot of respect for someone who is willing to do that. They've never backed down from what they believe in, and people love them for that.
I can go to any Chick-Fil-A, near or far, and I get treated like I'm the most important person in that restaurant, whether that's true or not. I feel like there is always a little old lady greeting you at the door with a broom or a wet wash cloth in her hand. Your order is always ready within five minutes, and there's never a moment when there isn't at least one handsome boy taking your order. Act right, that could be your future husband. But a little more on the serious side - you never fail to hear a "my pleasure" after you order, and that sweet tea is always served with a smile.
Hear me out. I'm not bashing any other fast food restaurant because I don't eat Chickfila 24/7 (I would be 400 lbs.), but I am saying that if every restaurant treated their customers the way that Chick-Fil-A treats theirs, more people would be a lot happier, and more people would attend other fast food places. And yes, I did just base happiness on food because let's be real, food changes everyone's personality.
Chick-Fil-A is always the restaurant you hear about giving to other people or helping out someone in need. Every time I go in there, I feel like a better person. I feel like I can accomplish anything. As weird as that may sound, isn't that how we should be all the time? Shouldn't we pray with the homeless? Shouldn't we pay for someone else's meal? Shouldn't we be that person that no one else is willing to be?
Think about that, and next time you're looking for somewhere to eat, never forget about the home of the original chicken sandwich and the people who treat you so well.
