It's finally that wonderful time of the year. If you haven't finished finals already, your last few days are probably approaching. No better feeling than knowing you have a few months of rest, relaxation, and sweet summer. Here's a few activities every college student should do on break.
Netflix binge watching
Not like we don't already do this during the semester to procrastinate starting that ten-page philosophy paper, but now we have all the time in the world to finish a series in record breaking time.
Take a road trip
Whether it's for a week or you're just visiting a new town for the day, get out and explore. Now's the perfect time.
Sleep
Ah, yes. Everyone's favorite activity. Although there will be many nights you find yourself out until 6am meanwhile you're working a 9am shift that day, try and catch up on sleep. You'll regret it when classes resume in August and sleep isn't even a part of your vocabulary anymore.
Hit the beach
Lucky for me, I live just a short car ride away from many beaches. If you don't live close to a beach make a weekend trip and go!
Take as many pictures as you can
Nothing is more bittersweet than having hundreds of pictures to look back at from previous summers. Take as many pictures as you possibly can and cherish the great memories.
Stay out until the morning sunrise
Looking back at last summer, some of the greatest nights I had were those that I said I was just going to go out for a little and ended up getting home 7am. It's always nice to have a plan, but if you don't just go with the flow.
Go on a vacation
I know vacations can be hard for college student's with a budget, but try your best to get out visit somewhere new.
Read a good book
Although reading is something most people would rather not be doing on break, it's the perfect time. Pick out a good book and read at your own leisure with no distractions.
Campout with friends
Whether you camp out in a tent or just lay down a few blankets and sleep under the stars, it's guaranteed to be a great night with friends.
Get a summer job
Although nobody likes working, now's the perfect time to get a job to not only pay for all your summer activities, but to also save up for the upcoming semester.
Make every second count
Summer 2016 will only be here once. Have no regrets and I promise you'll look back and say it was one of the greatest summers yet. Make memories that will last a lifetime and make it a summer hard to top.
