Charlie Puth is a name that many don't know, yet. I stress the word yet, because this 23 year-old is hitting the top charts with his beautiful melodies.
Puth first came to fame over YouTube. He started producing his own songs as well as performing covers which garnered him a strong fan-base. His cover of "Someone Like You" by Adele went viral when he won Perez Hilton's cover contest in 2011 and landed him a spot on Ellen. He signed with Ellen's record label, Eleveneleven and started his musical career putting him in a spotlight.
Eventually he signed with Atlantic Records, a top charting record label, and his career propelled. He started producing as well as singing, songwriting, and being a musician. He has worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Jason Derulo, Wiz Khalifa, and Meghan Trainor. In the past six months, Puth has released two hit singles, "Marvin Gaye" and "See You Again."
That's right. He wrote, produced and sang the hit single "See You Again" featured in "Furious 7" as a tribute to the late Paul Walker. He's that guy. We all know the song and voice, but known of us know the name. Now we do. The song moved audience's in the theater and has become No.1 in over 90 countries. He coupled with the famous rapper, Wiz Khalifa, the roughness of Khalifa's voice mixed with Puth's smooth and perfect pitch made the song flow with grace.
Before this, Puth worked with beginner herself, Meghan Trainor, and produced the single "Marvin Gaye," influenced by one of his favorites of soul, Marvin Gaye himself. Puth combined Hip-hop and Motown to create this unique and catchy sound. Motown and Jazz is what he grew up on. Puth grew up in Romson, New Jersey where his mother taught him piano at just four years old and he went on to practice at the Manhattan School of Music where he perfected his mastery. All this practiced paid off in the end.

In addition, to his raw talent he oozes sex. His music video to "Marvin Gaye" is prom-themed filled with dull couples finding their sexuality as the song goes on. Couple after couple locking lips and jumping each other's bones all the while Puth and Trainor sing on stage, sexual tension emulating between the two.
The single was released in February, however is just now receiving the critical attention it deserves.
His voice comes from the heart and his sexy kinked eyebrow, makes fans like him even more.
There has been a strew of Bieber-like breakout stars within the past few years, but I believe we have finally found our needle within the haystack, a star in the making and a new voice that is going to shake the music industry.
