Make A Change

It all starts with you.

Make A Change
the imaginative conservative

Take a look at yourself. Do you like what you see? Do you like the person you are becoming? If you do, keep striving to be the best. If you don't it is time to make a change. I have my up and downs, some times I am becoming more like the woman I want to be and other days I am rude and hateful. Simple stuff annoys me, I complain at what I don't want to do, and I am rude to people. Now does that sound like someone you want to be? No, probably not. Life can be pretty simple. Smile, be happy, and don't care what others think. Yet we complicate it some how?

I get wrapped up in what other people say about me and I dwell on it for days. I am sure you do too. It happens, because we want people to like us. Honestly, we waste so much time on stuff that doesn't matter. If you add up all that time I am positive you could have used that energy some where else. We need to start focusing on what we can change instead of what we can't. We have the power to change a lot in this world, but it starts with you. Stop letting this world put limits on your life. No one has the power, but you.

We rush at the chance to spread articles and information on social media, so use it for good! Do something valuable with your time, give back to others and love deeply. This world is big and its scary, but put a smile on your face and take the world by storm. You can't control what happens, but you can control what it means to you. You can do anything you want with what has been happening in our world, do it for the good of others and this society. Don't be selfish or make rash decisions that will effect everyone.

In this world people hurt people that is the reality of it. You can either dwell about it or move on and make the best of every situation. Love is so powerful and it only takes one person to make a change. Be different and take a stand on what you believe in. We don't have to hate, fight, or disagree on anything. If we could just control how we react to situations and love one another this world would be in a much better place. I pray for a world where we fight to understand people more. We disagree on everything and we fight until we get the last word in. If we could change all that hate and fight think about how much better our world would be?

If you don't like what's happening in the world or who you are becoming it all starts with you. Do something to make the future greater. Don't be afraid to love harder. Don't be afraid to be different. Change starts with one person go against the odds. Things won't change unless we change daily. Be the person God created you to be.

Love more. Breathe. Keep Moving. Subtract the stress. Hate less.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
