"I don't think this is what I want to do anymore."
"I just changed my major... again."
"Okay I don;'t like kids, so maybe I should be an early childhood ed major."
When you're five years-old and your kindergarten teach asks you what you want to be when you grow up you reply with the generic five year old answer. Most girls wanted to be a ballerina, a vet, or a princess. For most little boys they wanted to be cops, firefighters, or a super hero. As I near the 20 year mark in my life I can honestly say that the princess option is still looking pretty promising.
As a college student, people ask me every day what my major is, why I chose it, and what am I going to do with it. For the past year and a half I've given the same answer but just recently I have changed my major and I couldn't be more excited for this next step in my life. At first I was very apprehensive to take this turn in my life but I knew It was the right decision to make this change. For as long as I can remember I have always said that I don't want to wake up in the morning and say, "ugh I hate my job, I don't want to go." I want to wake up and be excited to go to work and be ready to start my day. So I started noticing myself dreading my classes for my major because I honestly hated going and I was to the point where I didn't even want to learn anymore about it. That's when I knew I needed to change.
And don't ever let someone tell you that it's too late to change. It is never too late to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. If you change your major 5 times and it's still not right and you end up back to the major that you started with then well, welcome back you better pick up where you left off and get to work.
As long as you are willing to work hard and are driven to succeed you;ll find success in whatever you choose. Don't let people discourage you from your decisions.
