"Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes them meaningful."
Everyone experiences some kind of obstacles or "bumps in the road." It isn't what happens to you that defines who you are, it is how you choose to overcome the obstacles that are thrown at you. And this-this is how I overcome all the obstacles that have been thrown at me.
Obstacle #1: Not Having Time
Everyone has those times in their life when they feel they are too busy to do anything with family or friends. Here are some things I do that I advice you too do: Learn to say "no" to certain activities more often. If your priorities are not straight (you aren't doing what really matters), then you need to figure out what matters to you most and stick to those things. DO NOT spend your precious time on people or activities that you can't see yourself wanting to have around in the future. DO NOT GET SIDE-TRACKED. I know it is hard, believe me, I do it all the time. Try your hardest to set a goal to set one thing done at a time or you'll end up with a thousand different jobs you never finished.
Obstacle #2: Not Enough Money
Money isn't the only important thing in the world. Who cares if you don't have money? Sure you might not be able to go out as much, but you don't need money all the time. Somethings are better unplanned and without money. For example, last summer, I watched some of my best friends roll around in mud while they played football to cool off-and trust me-that was more entertaining than ANY concert, or any movie. If money really means that much to you, develop a plan of some kind to create more income on your part. I promise the possibilities are endless. Some of the things you could do to make not having money more enjoyable are: Create a space for you to do the things you enjoy and love right in the comfort of your own home, work hard in everything you do and always find ways to better yourself.
Obstacle #3: Physical Health
I have never been a very healthy person – that's probably why I am the way I am now. But I also know that the only reason I haven't changed is because I want to change. You can't make any progress in your life if you don't want to change. You have to WANT it. Some of the things I haven't done that I wish I would-and you can too: Hire someone to train you, take classes that will help you better your workouts, and nutrition, eat all three meals a day, sleep more than you think you need too.
Obstacle #4: Others Opinions Of You
Let's face it, people are going to have something against you all your life. People will never not have something to say about you. But that shouldn't be your only thought when you walk into or out of a room. Follow these simple instructions: Walk in and out of a room like you own the entire place-what are people going to say about you when you walk into a room like nobody's business? Nothing. Exactly. Put people in their place-think of the bullies like children that need a swift smack across the face, and last but not least, smile when you hear your name-you know they'll remember you.
Obstacle #5: Loss Of Control
You will not always have control over people or situations. You CANNOT freak out about that. Take it from someone who has major anxiety about this, you can not let things get to you so easily-it will ruin you. The most successful people in life are the people who overcome their fears and obstacles and control the situation as much as they can. Life isn't always unicorns and glitter.
Obstacle #6: Lack Of Motivation
I have this one almost constantly-just ask my mother. Trust me, you don't wan to do this. The times you face getting motivated are the times when life is the hardest on you. And that is okay. You won't get anywhere in life if you don't have some kind of hardship or crisis. You wouldn't be who you are today if you didn't have some kind of challenge to overcome-but your still kicking aren't you? Even the most powerful and successful people deal with lack of motivation- you can only take so much. Successful people are able to take those challenges and those hardships and turn them into something they just have to "deal with" or see it as something they won't let "hold them back." I hope you become that person. The person who overcomes everything that is against them.
"Anyone can give up. It's the easiest thing to do in the world. But to hold it together when everyone would expect you to fall apart? That's true strength." -Chris Bradford
