I don't know what I would do without you.

Thank You To My CFW Family

This past week, I was able to meet 22 of my very best friends. I was able to add 22 people to my family. I was able to grow closer with a group of 22 people than I had with almost anyone in my life. This past week, I was able to attend Chapter Focus Week through InterVarsity in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This past week, I was able to grow so much in my faith with these 22 people and I couldn't thank them enough for everything that they have given to me in such a short amount of time. I could never thank them enough, but I want them to know how much they will always mean to me.

Thank you for accepting me for who I was the moment we all met each other

Thank you for always being down for a new adventure

Thank you for staying up late and having life chats until 2 a.m.

Thank you for laughing with me the whole entire week

Thank you for loving Fred as much as I do (WWFD)

Thank you for teaching me how to love myself first

Thank you for showing me that everyone has a different story and has walked a different path of life

Thank you for traveling to gnome rock with me

Thank you for showing me God's love in so many amazing ways throughout the week

Thank you for being unapologetically yourselves

Thank you for showing me what it was like to be loved by an amazing group of people

Thank you for all the group hugs

Thank you for all the sing-alongs and random dancing sessions

Thank you for showing me the importance of having a strong faith

Thank you for learning with me

Thank you for showing me that God loves all of us and made us perfect in our own ways

Thank you for loving me

Thank you for becoming people I will always call my family

Thank you for being my people

Just because this week is over, doesn't mean that everything has to end. The love the CFW family has is something that will never fade because it is so real. Growing with this family is already the highlight of my summer, and I would never change that for anything.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
