Car Rides Are Like Relationships

Can you enjoy the ride or are you going to hit a speed bump?

If you have ever been on a road trip or simply just a long car ride you know that the roads never seem to end but everything changes as you keep going. Nothing is ever going to be the same for the next 235 miles. You're going to see beautiful buildings, mountains, leaves changing and most importantly life before you. From here you either have two options, enjoy the ride or turn around.

Although I have never been in one, I can see a relationship being the same thing as a car ride. They are either long and boring or fun and beautiful. Put your relationship in a car. Can you enjoy the ride or are you going to hit a speed bump? If you are that couple that is going to hit a speed bump, turn around. Although you always seem to get where you are going, you know there is always a ride back to where you started. Leave that person in your rear view mirror because if you leave them there you know you will only see beautiful things ahead, just like a fun road trip.

Maybe the person that's supposed to be your shot gun rider just hasn’t came along yet. Wait for them because nothing is worse than sitting in a car for hours with a person that can not work a GPS, is tone-deaf and very loud when chewing. It may be easier said than done to leave that person in the rear view, but it’s worth a shot.

You deserve the person that is going to keep you on your feet with adventures. You deserve the person that is going to change things up when things get boring. But most importantly, you deserve happiness. Enjoy the ride!
