There’s the moment in life we all try to avoid, and I’m not alluding to getting the “You have used 75 percent of your mobile data” text. As humans, we possess the gift of emotions; a curse and a blessing. One particular emotion, the feeling of liking someone, seems to create happiness for some people or despair for others.
A byproduct of this emotion is created when the attraction grows stronger. This can be contracted through air, physical contact, or by instinct also known as "Catching Feelings." Side effects may include heavy blushing, emotional mind control, random acts of undercover stalking, and endless denial. Coping with these symptoms can be difficult, but they are needed to endure this stage in your life. Here are some tips:
1. Constantly denying you have feelings for someone only makes it worse.
2. Your friends will point your crush out. Just deal with it.
3. Unfortunately, Pandora will play love songs, because it knows how you’re feeling.
4. Food will always be a great distraction.
5. Don’t be ashamed to feel passionate about someone, even if it’s the Domino’s pizza delivery guy.
Regardless of whether or not you deeply appreciate a person you might not ever talk to, don’t stop yourself from pursuing something you desire. Most people dread this stage, due to the inability to control, to stop, or to decrease the amount of feelings you have for the person. How one can simply “decrease” feelings is unheard of, but some people will do anything to excuse themselves from admitting the truth.
Yes, love is a sacred subject. However, having someone catch your eye isn’t a sin, and you won’t get struck by lightning. Therefore, take your fishing hook of love and cast it upon The Chosen One.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
