Some may argue with the title of my article that we still are Americans. However I beg to differ!
What happened to the days where you pass a homeless person on the street and give them a couple dollars to feed themselves for the day?
What happened to the fact that we are "One Nation Under God?" I don't know what you all think, but I think America needs God!
I believe that change can happen. No matter what political stance you may have or what ethnicity you are, we all need to start working together to build America back up and become that nation that I love so much!
It is an absolute shame that not one person can feel safe in our country. We are supposed to provide citizens with jobs and love one another. To build each other up so we can rebuild America --No, that's not a Trump line. OK, it might be -- but it's exactly what needs to happen no matter who becomes the next president.
I believe that race and the color of our skin is how society wants us to portray each other. Why can we not just see each other for what we are -- Americans? I don't get why there is so much hate in our country and in the world. It will never make sense to me. Be kind to one another, lend a helping hand and make the best of the life you were given.
It's time to start treating each other with the respect and kindness that we deserve!
I see all of these posts on social media about how they wish everyone would get along and how all of the hate needs to cease. I'm sorry, you can talk all you want, but until you be the change you want to see in this world then it's not going to happen. Simple as that.
Nelson Mandela once said, "Sometimes if falls upon a generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom!"
Now, I can't tell you what to do with your life. But come on, people, it is time to wake up and change the world! Make it a place that you want your grandchildren to grow up in. I'm here to tell you now, that if our country keeps on this downward spiral, I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in it. That's why I take it in my hands to be the change that I want to see.
I want everyone to get along. I want people to help feed and clothe the homeless. I want there to be peace in our borders, and I don't want to feel threatened in my own city. I pray for America, and I pray for Americans that we can make this a better place to live so that we may become more civilized in our everyday lives! Instead of turning your nose up to the person asking for food, take them to a restaurant and let them get whatever they want. That person behind you in the drive through, pay for their tab. See someone with a flat tire on the side of the road? Stop and help them change it!
Start treating everyone the way that you expect to be treated. Always stay steadfast in everything hat you do! Now I challenge each of you to make a change in your life, community and then, who knows, the world!
