“Hi, I would like a number one meal with a Coke to drink. May I have extra Chick-Fil-A sauce with that please?”
Sound familiar? Due to the company’s continued success, it is no surprise that other fast-food chains are doing everything that they can to compete with the wonderful Chick-fil-A.
Of these envious chains, it appears that McDonald’s will soon be making efforts to provide meals with chicken that is more comparable to that of Chick-fil-A’s. Many might laugh at the idea of eating a chicken sandwich from McDonald’s that can even remotely contend with Chick-fil-A’s, but could it be possible?
According to internal documents from McDonald’s Corporate, plans have been made to navigate towards a more “credible chicken player”. By this, McDonald’s aspires to provide chicken with a more authentic flavor that can be a more competitive opponent against other fast-food chicken. They already advertise buttermilk chicken items on the menu but plan to revamp this flavor in such a way that mimics that of Chick-fil-A’s. This goes for McDonald’s chicken sandwiches, tenders, and nuggets. It is undeniable that Chick-fil-A has been and is doing something right, and McDonald’s hopes to further their success by following a similar path.
There is even a name for this entire movement: Better Chicken.
I wonder how much brainstorming that one took?
Chick-fil-A seems to sit a higher level than other fast food restaurants for a number of reasons. For starters, their food is of greater quality. Plain and simple. Chick-fil-A sauce alone is enough to make it a better choice than 75% of other fast-food chains.
Additionally, Chick-fil-A almost always provides exemplary customer service. Every employee says, “It’s my pleasure,” and truly acts as if it is his/her pleasure. Even while you are sitting in the dining room, employees typically come around to check on you and offer you refills. There is no arguing that service such as this is not offered at other fast-food chains.
McDonald’s is taking on a hefty challenge by trying to compete with Chick-fil-A’s incredibly popular chicken. If relatively successful, though, competing with Chick-fil-A as a whole requires much more than a decent chicken sandwich. Advances towards “better chicken” will likely be seen from McDonald’s in the near future.
