If you are anything like me, all of the books that you read just aren't enough, and you're always looking for something new. I am a really big fan of series books, mainly because I like watching characters grow and evolve. It is interesting to me to see how their relationships with others change over time and what contributes to these changes. A subject that has always interested me is the sci-fi/ fantasy category. Typically, I find myself reading books that are focused on dystopian societies and post-apocalyptic scenarios. In the following list, I want to touch on some book series that I have either really enjoyed reading, or I plan on reading in the near future. If you are looking for a new book to read, you have come to the right place!

1. All Souls Trilogy

This series is one of my favorites to talk about. I am currently reading it, so I don't have all of the answers...yet. Basically, this series follows Diana Bishop, a witch, who is trying to live her life magic-free. This is all going quite well, until she uncovers an ancient manuscript, attracting all sorts of witches, deamons, and vampires. One vampire in particular, Matthew Clairmont, becomes an imperative part of her life when his preternatural instincts take over and his need to protect her becomes his sole mission- along with also discovering the mysteries of the manuscript. I would encourage anyone to read this trilogy, especially if fantastical creatures and action packed, romantic, historical battles catch your eye.

2. Matched Trilogy

The Matched trilogy is next up on my long list of books to read. Although I haven't read them yet, the plot has already drawn me in. Ally Condie writes of a dystopian society in which upon turning 17, you are matched with your spouse; hence the title of the first book. The main character, Cassia, gets matched with her best friend, but later has reason to believe that her match was tampered with in some way. This revelation leads her to question the system that is being used and if she will ever end up with the right match.

3. The Mortal Instruments Series

The Mortal Instruments series includes an astonishing six books, all focused on shadow hunting. The series showcases a teenage girl named Clary who is descended from a long line of shadow hunters. It isn't until her mother disappears that she joins a group of hunters who use their skills to protect against the evils in the world, while trying to solve the mystery of her mother's disappearance.

4. Panther in the Hive

Panther in the Hive is another book that focuses on the effects of a dystopian society. Centered in Chicago, it tells the story of a technology gone wrong that when administered to humans, caused them to lose their minds. The main character must travel across the country to reach her sister before these weaponized humans get to her. There are many dangers that she must face on her journey, and we can read along with her every step of the way.

Hopefully, you have seen something that has sparked interest, and you may go out and seek out these titles. I am so excited to finish all of these books, and i encourage you to do the same. Happy reading!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
