The Anti-Trump Rioters In California Took Their Anger Out On The Wrong People

The difference between political disagreement and respect.

Recently in the news, presidential candidate Donald Trump campaigned at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. With the recent controversy that was displayed with Trump, Bernie, Hillary, Cruz, and Kasich still in the running for the next POTUS, the main bait of the media frenzy is Trump himself. His vocal viewpoints about immigration and gender equality have sparked rage across the nation, with some citizens fighting for his trail to the presidency, and others are not too pleased with what he has to say.

Each political candidate has his/her stance on a variety of different problems in the United States. Whether you’re Republican, Democrat or an Independent, you have your views and you stick to them. Donald Trump is a multi-million businessman who’s had a range of success throughout his entire life, but recently, his latest rally in California displayed acts of violence so disrespectful that as a politician, he had to run and hide.

During the period of Trump arriving to the scene, men and women were throwing eggs at police vehicles, writing heinous messages, jumping on top of the vehicles, and setting certain objects on fire. There is a huge difference between politically disagreeing with what a political candidate (like Donald Trump) has to say and going to protest with a poster board outside of a venue, and completely disrespecting workers who are there for the sole protection of not only Donald Trump (who believe it or not is a human being like everyone else) but for the protection of all the men and women who choose to attend the rally. Due to the outbreaks of disrespectful actions that took place, Donald Trump had to enter the premises through a back entrance, hop a fence and be bombarded with law enforcement.

There are many who do not agree with Donald Trump and his views. However, this gives nobody the right to disrespect any man or woman who is at an event for the sole purpose of your protection. The fighting and actions got to the point of law enforcement having to barricade portions of the location and tackle people to the ground. The amount of bravery and nerve that these people have to be able to present their views in the first place is shocking, but to disrespect, hurt and violate others in the process of getting your message to the world is ridiculous.

The common phrase, “Actions speak louder than words” is popular, but in this situation there was more media on the people who damaged property, the fire bombs thrown and the police barricades protecting people who were there to listen. Most people who went to protest were more interested in damaging and hurting others and their items. My recommendation is to stick to poster boards and costumes when you’re trying to get a message across and give yourself some self-respect. Keep the fire bombs, heinous messages written on police cars, and fighting innocent supporters away.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
