Imagine what it would be like to control time. You could freeze objects in mid-air, move around in the blink of an eye, and even dodge bullets matrix-style. These are exactly what you are able to do in the recently released video game, Quantum Break. Created by Remedy Entertainment, the makers of Alan Wake and Max Paine, this amazing game involves not only story-driven gameplay but also over two hours of live-action segments that help you delve deeper into its intriguing plot. Additionally, the game and live-action episodes are affected by decisions--called Junction Impacts--you choose within certain parts of the game. Combined, these features make for a refreshing and engaging gaming experience.
In this action-adventure, science fiction, third-person shooter game you follow the protagonist Jack Joyce as he attempts to stop the End of Time, a result of a Fracture that occurred during a failed time machine experiment. However, a technologically advanced company called Monarch Solutions, headed by his ex-best-friend Paul Serene, is hellbent on preventing Jack from impeding their plans for when time ends. Both Jack and Paul were present during the failed time-machine experiment, which gave them the ability to manipulate aspects of time around them. Their past friendship and battles against one another make Quantum Break a dramatic, thrilling, and an extremely interesting game that I canāt wait to play for myself.
Though hereās the problem Iām facing: Quantum Break is exclusive to Xbox One consoles and Microsoft Windows. I, however, own a PS4 and I canāt use the PC version of the game. If I wanted to play the game on my computer, then Remedy has recommended that the game be run using Windows 10, with a computer that includes an Intel Core i5 4690 (3.9GHz) central processing unit, 16 GB of RAM, 55 GB of available space on the hard disk drive, and much more. Put simply, these are quite specific and high-quality components that no computer in my household can match.
So what am I going to do to solve this problem? Iām going to buy an Xbox One, of course. Iām not usually one to make such a big investment for one single game, but Remedy has got me throughly hooked on their newest project. Its amazing storyline, stunning graphics, and live-action features are something I would not want to ever miss out on. Nicely done, Microsoft. Your āexclusive gameā tactics have worked on me. Quantum Break, here I come!
