The Washington Post estimates that it would cost $25 billion to build the wall Trump has been talking out. $25 BILLION. Considering our military spends $601 billion a year that may not seem like a lot in the whole scheme of things, but let me tell ya...it is. To put this in perspective, with the money it would take to build it you could....

1. Go to the moon and back 33 times

It costs about $750 million, round-trip

2. Buy the Louisiana Purchase 107 times

The Louisiana Purchase costed a mere $15 million, which converts to $233 million today.

3. Buy everyone over the age of 65 in Iowa (approx. 500 thousand people) a hip replacement

which may not sound like too much until you realize that hip replacement costs $40 thousand. And guess what... YOU WOULD STILL HAVE $5 BILLION LEFT OVER.

4. Buy braces for everyone in Italy

It costs approximately $4,000 for braces and the Italian population is about 60 million

5. Buy everyone in the world two 2-liters of Coke

6. Buy a big mac from McDonald's for everyone in the world

You could LITERALLY feed the world

7. The New York Times estimates it would cost $30 billion a year to solve world hunger. THIS MEANS YOU COULD ALMOST SOLVE WORLD HUNGER FOR A YEAR

So yeah I guess we could build a wall; however, the difference we could make in the world with that money would be...

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
