The Last Purchase I Made Will Change My Life For The Better, It's Worth The Investment

The Fitbit purchase is going to literally help me reach the goals I need to set for myself and lose the weight I need to lose to become healthy again.

This is going to be about my most recent purchase and why it is literally the best thing I have ever decided to put my money towards. It is also going to be me reflecting on my life before I made this purchase and how my future will change because of it as well. My purchase was a Fitbit! It may sound crazy to hear me say that I think my life will change because of this, but I will explain why.

Before college, I NEVER struggled with my weight at all. Of course, I had those thoughts where I was like, "Oh my gosh that girl is so much prettier than I am" but what girl doesn't think that, am I right? It was the typical high school body jealousy type stuff but never really anything serious. I was always so comfortable in anything that I wore and felt like I could pull a lot of different styles off. It may have also helped that I was a dancer which kept me in shape without even realizing it. I was able to eat mounds of any kind of food that I wanted without gaining a single pound or feeling gross afterward. I literally felt amazing which led me to never having to keep track of what I was eating, how much I was eating, or how many times a week I worked out. But then, I graduated high school and this all changed.

When I got into college, I stopped dancing and would work out every once in a while but thought that I would be fine because I was skinny up until that point weighing 125 pounds and I was always able to see muscle definition everywhere on my body. After a few months, I gained a few pounds but I told myself it was just the normal freshman 15.

Now I am a senior in college and I have gained 45 pounds and I could not feel any worse. I have finally told myself that I am going to make a big lifestyle change and become more healthy not only physically but mentally. The Fitbit purchase is going to literally help me reach the goals I need to set for myself and lose the weight I need to lose to become healthy again. Now when I say lose weight, I don't mean go back down to 125 pounds, but I want to feel as good as I did when I was 125 pounds even if it is at the same weight I am now.

On the Fitbit, I set a few goals for myself. One goal is to walk 10,000 steps each day regardless if I workout or not. Another goal is to be physically active for 30 minutes at a time each day such as getting up and walking around or even taking a little late afternoon bike ride after work! My favorite goal that I have that I am extremely excited to reach is working out 3-4 times a week! If I can maintain this goal and keep reaching it, I know I can start to become healthy again like I was before college. The Fitbit also allows me to connect to my phone where I can log what I eat and how many calories I am putting into my body and how many I am taking out with my daily routines. It tracks how much water I am drinking because water is SUPER important when it comes to being healthy. I am absolutely in love with the Fitbit and even though it may have put a dent in my pocket, I am excited to see what positive changes it will make for me in the future!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
