A Bucket List For The Last Semester
Eaglerising

As I began packing my bags to head back to school, it finally hit me that this is it. This is actually it. This is the last time I will be packing huge duffel bags of clothes to bring back, the last time I have to say goodbye to my room at home and the last time I will have to say goodbye to my friends at home for the four plus months I am back at school. The next time I go home, I will be a college graduate (hopefully), which is terrifying. As I’m sure a majority of you have your lives for post grad life figured out, unfortunately I do not (I hope I’m not the only one). Thinking that I only have four months to find a job, an apartment, new roommates, and deciding where to settle for the next few years leaves me very nervous. The past three and a half years I have been surrounded by amazing people and I can’t imagine what I am going to do without them after graduation. So as we prepare for the last semester I want you to make the best out of the time we have left. So here is a bucket list of ideas to complete before graduation.

  1. Hike a nearby trail with your friends.
  2. Go explore your college town (if you haven’t already).
  3. Go visit a friend at a different school.
  4. Plan a weekend trip to the beach or a lake with your housemates.
  5. Get drunk on a random weeknight for no reason.
  6. Plan a wine and movie night with your housemates.
  7. Go out every weekend. (Don't second guess yourself.)
  8. Plan a brunch with a group of friends.
  9. Go to that bar that you’ve never been too before.
  10. Talk to the boy you always thought was cute but never talked to before.
  11. Make a new friend in a different social group.
  12. Go to a job fair and apply for a job.
  13. Sign up for an intramural team.
  14. Host a “dinner party” with friends.
  15. Hang out with one of your freshman-year friends you haven’t talked to since the first year.
  16. Join a random club on campus.
  17. Go to a bar with karaoke night.
  18. Attend at least one sporting event for each team.
  19. Crash a greek life event.
  20. Go get drinks with other students from your major.
  21. Pull a pointless all-nighter to hang out with your housemates and binge watch Netflix.
  22. Take a class that has nothing to do with your major.
  23. Complete a power hour.
  24. Write your name with sharpie somewhere on campus.
  25. Get a random tattoo or piercing.
  26. Go to one of your school’s musical or dance performance.
  27. Meet with your professor before a major test or paper (it really does help).
  28. Plan a trip for spring break.
  29. Go on a weekend ski trip.
  30. Host a theme party.
  31. Go and volunteer at the local SPCA.
  32. Make a list of your favorite memories since you’ve been in college and be sure to add to it.
  33. And finally, make the best out of your last few months at college.

As this semester begins I urge you to be bold and be different for this last semester. Make the best of every moment and enjoy every moment. I challenge you to make this your very best semester with your best friends. These memories will last a lifetime.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
