New emojis are being released with iOS 10.2, and the anticipation is killing me. We are going to see brand new items as well as changes to some of the classics. As a frequent emoji user, I feel as though I have the authority to deliver my honest opinion on the new additions to the best keyboard Apple has to offer.

1. Frog (Update)

I was perfectly fine with the old frog and this update seems quite unnecessary. I found the other frog to be cute, and this one is just creepy. To me, this looks more like the Geico mascot than a frog.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️

2. Moon Phase (New)

I really don't see a use for this emoji. I guess if someone texted me, "Hey what does tonight's moon look like?" I could respond with this emoji, but I've had a phone for 14 years and no one has ever asked me what the moon phase is over text.

Overall rating: ⭐️

3. Pancakes (New)

It's about time Apple released a pancake emoji! I may be biased because pancakes are my favorite food, but this is hands down the best new addition to the emoji lineup. I hope people put this emoji next to my contact name. This emoji will truly add to any brunch themed Instagram post.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

4. Meteor (New)

I know it's a bit untraditional, but I dig this new emoji. I feel like a meteor (if that's what this actually is) will be a great replacement for the fire emoji when you're telling your besties how hot their selfies are. This thing looks burning hot. If this isn't a meteor, please forgive me astronomy buffs. Either way, it looks super hot.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

5. Pig (Update)

There was a pig body before, but it looked kind of disgusting. This piggy looks so stinking cute! I almost want to give it a hug if that were at all possible. I don't exactly know how useful this will be, but it's so adorable that it doesn't matter.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

6. Blowfish (New)

I have been actively seeking an emoji to convey just how bloated I am and this just fell into my lap. No complaints from me.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

7. Gumbo (New)

This looks absolutely disgusting. If someone texted this to me, I would have no interest in eating at all for the next 48 hours. I think it may be the peas that make this dish so questionable.

Overall rating: ⭐️

8. Crown (Update)

Now this crown is truly made for a princess. This crown puts the previous crown to shame. This beautiful piece is something that a real life princess would be envious of. Using this emoji will make any text just a tad more sassy.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

9. Key (Update)

This takes "major key" to a whole new level. This key looks extremely realistic and I may accidentally reach for it to open my door. Okay, not really, but I'm extremely impressed by how perfect this key looks. Way to go, Apple.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

10. Fox (New)

This emoji is quite the fox -- bad pun, I know, but it is super cute. Just like many emojis, I'm not sure how useful it's going to be but this is one I will go out of my way to find a use for. This little guy is giving me "Zootopia" vibes and I'm totally a fan.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

11. Clown (New)

WHAT THE HECK, APPLE? NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR THIS.

Overall rating: -⭐️

12. Sick face (New)

This is another emoji that I've always been looking for. There is no current emoji that expresses the exact amount of disgust I'm feeling, but I feel like this will do the trick. I feel like this emoji will be multipurpose and be in my "Frequently Used." Thanks for this one, Apple. It's a sick addition to the emoji family.

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

13. Female Firefighter (New)

This is one cool chick. There are many new female career emojis being added to the lineup, and I feel like this will be a great influence for younger girls to follow their dreams and not be limited by gender expectations. High-five to you Apple for showing girls that they can kick butt and be whatever they want to be.

There are plenty of new emojis to pick from, and I'm always shocked that they can keep making new ones. I can't wait for iOS 10.2 to be released to the public so I can incorporate these little characters into my everyday conversations. But until then, ✌🏻.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
