A Brother's Love...The Many Forms

The people who make you laugh until you seal...then laugh at you for laughing so hard

A Brother's Love...The Many Forms

Boys are weird! It's been said many times and in many different ways. That being said brothers are the weirdest of them all. Really and truly any girl who has at least one brother can probably agree to this. So not to boost my brother's egos anymore here is my insight on a brother's love...the many forms

Level 1: Teasing

Having brothers mean being picked on for just about everything...and I do mean EVERYTHING. From how "I should just marry the ground for how much 'face time' I've had with it." To how I'm; uncoordinated, not funny, nonathletic, etc... They like to remind me of that by randomly throwing stuff at me to try and "catch." They say that brothers show their love by picking on you...I guess my brothers really love me.

Level 2: Protective...to a fault

Brothers are protective of their sisters, they might not always show it but it's there. If that means that they are the only ones who are allowed to pick on you. Sometimes its when you get a flat tire outside of town and ALL of my brothers come to help me change a tire. Or when they get all brotherly protective over you when you see that one guy that just gives you the creeps in public.

Level 3: Embarrassing

Brother ( and boys in general) can be so EMBARRASSING! From hiding as mannequins in stores. To holding prom dresses up to themselves while you are trying to actually find a dress you like. They are extremely embarrassing when we're out in public and people start taking pictures of your brothers because they thought it was a good idea to do the creation of man poses...in the middle of the mall!

Level 4: Helpful

When you have brothers you automatically get your own personal mechanic, IT person, moving team, and bodyguard. They are also pretty good at giving advice when you need it.

Level 5: Sweet...when they want to be.

Brothers can make you want to pull your hair out sometimes but also make you want to cry and give them a hug. Like when your kid brother gives you a dandelion after your senior choir performance...or when your older brother offers to buy you food.

Brothers are usually your first guy friends and they are your protectors, and sometimes the people who make you laugh the hardest and whom you have some of the greatest memories with.

They are also the people who hide in the back seat of your car just to scare you. They laugh at you when you fall but usually help you back up. The final level of a brother's love is that they are lucky....Lucky to have a sister like me and I love my brothers dearly!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
