The Benefits Of Attending School In Brooklyn

Attending school in Brooklyn is by far an amazing experience. There are a huge variety of places to eat, hang out, and even shop! I'm a student at St. Francis College, which is right by the promenade and the view is most definitely breathtaking.

It's no secret that everyone enjoys eating and the most delicious places are located in Brooklyn. For instance, around my school, there are places such as, Shake Shack, Dos Toros, Hale & Hearty, Panera Bread, Five Guys, Potbelly, a selection of Thai and Chinese restaurants, and so much more! The best part about being able to eat all these amazing choices of foods is that you can eat as much as you want because there is a gym called NYSC that you can go to right after to burn those calories! All within the same area too!

As for desert places, it gets even better. There’s European Bakeries around the area and there’s also a store called Chocolate Factory, which contains the most delicious chocolates and candies ever! It may be, in fact, a little pricey but it is most definitely worth it! It’s also very interesting to note that the first Haagen-Dazs store is located in Brooklyn too, on Montague Street, right near my college!

Then comes shopping! There are so many stores and little outlets that you can shop at around the area, and for cheap too! Most clothes are on sale at some stores and then there are stores that are slightly expensive yet so worth it! My favorite store there is Social Apparel located by the block of Shake Shack. As for makeup, there is a huge Sephora across the street from my school and I spend most of my breaks there because I have a passion for makeup.

Going to school in Brooklyn gets better than just yummy tasting food and desert because what’s better than that? Celebrities!!! A lot of popular shows are filmed in Brooklyn, for instance, Gotham is filmed in Brooklyn and the trailers were parked right outside St. Francis College. Coming out of school and walking towards the train station, I saw Nicholas D’Agosto, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture with him because he was on set.

Then, a few months later, I was waiting for the A train on my way home, and standing next to me also waiting for the train was Brendan Dooling who played Walt Reynolds on The Carrie Diaries! This year, just 2 weeks ago, I met Olivia Caridi in Sephora, getting her makeup done. Olivia was one of the girls that were on the Bachelor this year with Ben Higgins and she was my favorite girl on the show, especially because she is a News Anchor/Journalist, which is what I am attending school for. I was lucky enough to get a picture with her and I couldn’t have been happier!

Receiving the chance to attend college in Brooklyn is by far one of the best chances I ever took. There are just so many different things to do, so many places to see, and celebrities to meet as well! It is by far the best experience I’ve had thus far, and I hope others will be encouraged to take a chance on Brooklyn as well!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
