Whether you're broke from responsibilities, broke from paying too many parking tickets, or broke because you just plain fail at budgeting your money, every college student has gone through a time where we have basically zero dollars to spare. Here's a list of 10 things that we can all relate to during our times of need:
1) Finding 3 dollars feels like winning the lottery
Literally. I once found a couple of bucks in my bookbag when I was cleaning it out and I definitely shed a tear or two.
2) Rejecting invitations to go out to eat is an everyday occurrence
Over the last school year I think I rejected my friends' invitations to do something around 875347589 times. All because of no money.
3) Crafting is your forte
It's Christmas and you have a whole $4.88 in your account. When in doubt: craft.
4) You've become quite the innovator
You will literally do anything to save or earn money... Anything...
5) You wait until the very last minute to decide if you really need that $200 textbook
You can just find the answer on the internet anyway, right?
6) You check the status of your bank account more than you check your Twitter
"Want to go get frozen yogurt?" Uhm yeah...let me just check something first...
7) Your fridge is always empty
If it's not empty, then it usually consists of expired milk and leftover Taco Bell sauce packets
8) Your parents coming to visit is like Christmas
When a college student's parents come to visit, Santa might as well be here. Bellies are full and visions of groceries, new bath products, and clothes dance in our heads.
9) Surprise costs coming up is a huge pain
*rolls eyes and simultaneously dies inside*
