If you haven't been watching Comedy Central's show, "Broad City," you've been missing out on one of the greatest TV shows my eyeballs have ever had the pleasure of watching. I've mentioned a little bit about Broad City in a previous article, but here's where I'm going to make the elaboration about why it's so great. Broad City has a way of really showing what it's like to have a best friend and these 11 GIFs are going to prove it.
1. Going shopping with your best friend be like:
Admit it. You and your best friend have walked into a store ready to drop some dollar-dollar bills on some clothes that were going to make you look fresher than you already looked. When you're with each other, you guys feel glamorous. The day is full of you guys complimenting each other and picking things out for one another for some body positivity between bffles. You go girls.
2. The official best friend moment when you make the commitment to be ride or die:
It happens, you guys just had a best friend moment that you're going to tell your kids about. When they're old enough to handle it, of course. Maybe you're drinking stolen alcohol in oversized men's clothing when you make the declaration, or maybe it's more normal than that. Either way, your best friend and you have made the decision that you will follow each other into the dark abyss. You've made it to ride or die status.
3. This level of affection:
To me, this just shows that you love your best friend and you're close and comfortable enough to do this. What Ilana was about to do for Abbi in this scene... that's a level of friendship that may take years to get to, but they've gotten to that point. If you haven't watched the show, I just have to summarize it for you a bit. Abbi's crush is over at her apartment, her toilet is clogged and Ilana is going to do whatever it takes to fix the clog. 'Nuff said.
4. When your best friend has the butt of a goddess:
Your best friend is wearing a great pair of jeans and also has great genes. Don't be afraid to let her know that she is slaying. I always be sure to let my friends know when they're having a good butt day. They pay attention to the front, but I've got their back.
5. When we start doing this together:
Sometimes our friend makes a funny face and it's just so hilarious that we need a picture of it to remember that moment. So then begins a session of us purposely contorting our faces and combating wrinkles just so we can make each other laugh.
6. Our conversations are deep.
We want to know why Steve left "Blue's Clues". How did CatDog use the bathroom? Where are Arnold's parents? Why don't the "Rugrats" parents notice that the babies can talk? When you're with your best friend, you go into deep conversations, causing you to ponder the strange world we live in. Then when we aren't talking about conspiracy theories, your friend is the person you can open up to and not feel judged. Your best friend is that person who can do both.
7. When asked what your favorite things are, your BFF is one of them.
Of course your BFF is in your top two. Then getting food with your BFF? That's really all anyone needs in life.
8. When you're truly honored to be in their life:
We want to be there for our friends when they achieve and fail. However, their achievements are a cause for celebration. We are their cheerleaders, hoping that they know we are always going to be there screaming the loudest. We're happy to be sharing the moment with them, just like they would be for us.
9. Being out in public and doing things like this:
When I'm out with my friends, I always have a tune on tap. We start dancing, people stare at us, but it's all good. As long as you're embarrassing yourselves together, right?
10. You only have eyes for each other.
Narcissus died from staring at his own reflection. Luckily, you're staring at your friend. Hopefully, they'll remind you to eat, drink and sustain life as you look at them. Of course, you have to return the favor since they're staring at you too.
11. They are with you on the road to adulthood.
Even when you veer off. Sometimes, you just have to get goofy with the BFF because life is hard. Being with them brings you back from the stress of everyday life and we couldn't be more thankful.
Broad City is a great show about two best buds trying to get through life in the big city. Abbi and Ilana may have their differences, but at the end of the day, they love each other and would do anything for one another. The show is full of hilarious moments and shows that life is so much more fun when it's with your best friend.
