Whenever we go through a breakup, we tend to latch onto little things to get us through it. Sometimes that's memories, movies, souvenirs but for me it's music. A song can allow you to get lost within it for a few minutes and take your mind to another place. Clearly, it is not a fix but it does help. And when going through a rough time, anything that even somewhat helps is appreciated. Here are a few songs on my list that take the edge off:

1. 'Oueens Don't' by RaeLynn

"Every jewel on my crown you better believe I earned it. Won't keep people around that don't believe I deserve it."

2. 'I've Done Love' by Jana Kramer

"In the dark and on the streets, I've done love or has it done me?"

3. 'Need You Now' by Lady Antebellum

"And I wonder if I ever cross your mind, for me it happens all the the time."

4. ' A Dozen Roses and a Six Pack' by Cole Swindell

"And this six pack might not be enough but it's a damn good start if we're ending us. We'll either work this out or we won't."

5. 'You'll Think of Me' by Keith Urban

"It seems the only blessing I have left to my name is not knowing what we could have been, what we should have been."

6. 'Stupid Boy' by Keith Urban

"She laid her heart and soul right in your hands, and you stole her dreams and crushed her plans."

7. 'Best Days of Your Life' by Kellie Pickler

"Ain't it a shame? A shame that every time you hear my name brought up in a casual conversation, you can't think straight."

8. 'She Wouldn't Be Gone' By Blake Shelton

"All I wanna do is fix my mistakes."

9. 'Forever and Always' by Taylor Swift

"I stare at the phone he still hasn't called, and then you feel so low you can't feel nothing at all. And you flashback to when he said forever and always."

10. 'Better Man' By Little Big Town

"It's always on your terms. I'm hanging on to every carless word, hoping it might turn sweet again."

You won't be sad forever and hopefully some of the songs will help get your mind off the pain. You'll get through this.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
