10 Country Songs To Keep In Mind When You See Your Ex
A new semester is here and you think FINALLY all the pain is over from that heart-wrenching break-up you had, but what happens? You run into them. It's a break up at a small school.
You are ready to start the new year, the new semester with a new hair-cut, new shoes, and your head held high thinking this is going to be your year, but then you run into that one person you do not want to see. If you ended on good terms then you do the awkward exchange of "How was your break?" convo, or if you ended on bad terms you do the walk by each other like you don't even know their name. Either way, it is impossible to not see them at a small school, it could be at a Greek event, football game, or just causally walking to class. There is just no stopping it.
If you are anything like me, a few thoughts or choice words come to mind and in most cases it would not be a beneficial conversation and on which would then get me into more trouble. So, next time you or I see that certain someone on campus and want to hop on the next plane to anywhere but here, think of these 10 country songs made to help us stand a little taller and be a little stronger the next time you see the "whacko" and remind them what they are missing out on.
Don't get me wrong, we may sometimes miss you, but we are better off without you and sometimes we just need a little reminder. This is not a hate article on any one certain ex, and if you think it is then you are pretty vain. (You're so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you, by Carly Simon.) This is just a reminder that there are better things to come and you should not have a reaction for one hot second when you see them.
And if you are the one that sees that person and doesn't even think twice about it, then these are just some great songs to listen to for you to remember that individual.

1. Shut up and Fish by Maddie and Tae

"Saying I'm pretty
Saying he's in love
And how it don't get any better than this
I said, "Yeah, it could,
Boy, if you would
Shut up and fish."

2. Mama's Broken Heartby Miranda Lambert

"Go and fix your make up, girl, it’s just a break up
Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady
'Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together
Even when you fall apart
But this ain’t my mama’s broken heart"

3. Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks

"'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay"

4. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift

"We are never ever ever getting back together,
We are never ever ever getting back together,
You go talk to your friends, talk to my friends, talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together"

5. You'll Think of Me by Keith Urban

"Someday I'm gonna run across your mind
Don't worry, I'll be fine
I'm gonna be alright
While you're sleeping with your pride
Wishing I could hold you tight
I'll be over you
And on with my life"

6. How Do You Like Me Now? by Toby Keith

"How do you like me now?
How do you like me now,
Now that I'm on my way?
Do you still think I'm crazy
Standin here today?"

7. Cold One by Eric Church

"That was a cold one, I never will get back
If she had to leave, did she have to leave me one beer short of a twelve pack?
She left me hanging high and dry in that hell hot summer sun
Damn, babe, that was a cold one"

8. I'm Gonna Miss Her by Brad Paisley

"So I'm gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I'm on this lake shore
And I'm sittin' in the sun
I'm sure it'll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight"

9. Drunk On A Plane by Dierks Bentley

"On my way home I'll bump this seat right up to first class
So I can drink that cheap champagne out of a real glass
And when we land I'll call her up and tell her kiss my ass
'Cause hey, I'm drunk on a plane"

10. Break Up In A Small Town by by Sam Hunt

"But there's only so many streets, so many lights
I swear it's like I can't even leave my house
I should've known all along
You gotta move or move on
When you break up in a small town"
