Winter is coming! Yes, it's true, and it's coming fast. Here are some fun things to do when it arrives.

1. Build a snowman

What is more fun than making yourself a companion out of snow? I don't know either.

2. Have a snowball fight

Make sure that you wear gloves!

3. Go sledding

When you sled, make sure to stay away from stray dogs.

4. Build a snow castle

Hide from everyone!

5. Make hot chocolate

How can you resist the liquid goodness of hot chocolate?

6. Use your fireplace

It is preferable to avoid using books as fuel.

7. Set up a Christmas tree

I know, I know. Christmas is a month away, but Christmas trees are so pretty and nice...

8. Buy gifts

Gifts are expensive, but your friends and family are worth it.

9. Read a book

You have a winter break, right? Books are good way to fill the free time.

10. Go skating

Make sure to tie your skates!

11. Hang out with friends and family

Friends and family are the most important things in life, so you should definitely find time to hang out with them!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
