The Best Kinds Of Flowers You Could Buy Someone

"Every flower must grow through dirt."

Despite this quotation not being the most eloquent that I have ever heard, despite that this quotation is simply a fact, I find it to be extremely impactful. I think the simplistic realization brings a parallel to the beauty of lives, both ours and that of a flower. Flowers grow through dirt; however, once they are grown, they are a beautiful addition to nature. Just like our lives, no matter how much "dirt" or challenges you have to grow through in life, our lives, are too, beautiful. This goes along with the well known metaphor of a life and a rose; our lives may have times difficult and painful, like a rose's thorns, but we also will have times of bliss and love, like a rose's soft petals.

Through seeing the parallelism of our lives in that of a flower, it becomes easier to grow past times of "dirt" and "thorns" we have to face. It plants a seed of hope, love, and joy and reminds us that our lives are beautiful, like that of a flower. Like it is important to take time and appreciate our lives, we must also "take time and smell the flowers".

Here is a list of 10 charming flowers that will remind you of life's mysterious beauty:

1. Roses are often given in different colors to symbolize sorrow, love and friendship.

2. Orchids are beautiful and very special to me. When I think of orchids I think of my grandma because they were her favorite flower. Flowers have the power to remind us of loved ones and loved moments.

3. Hydrangeas. These flowers are stunning. Outside my porch, hydrangeas grow and they're one of my favorite signs of summer.

4. Sunflowers remind me to be happy!

5. Tulips, simply beautiful.

6. Poppies... I love this photo.

7. Chrysanthemums are such a unique flower. It truly captures how detailed each and every flower is, just like how we are all unique with many details that create our full beauty.

8. Dahlias, do I need to say more?

9. Lilacs are the spring and summer air's perfume.

10. Peonies... I had to save my all time favorite flower for last! Peonies, to me, are a sign of love growing within nature.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
