Let me start off by saying that I totally understand the hype behind the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s great, it’s heavenly. But, don’t you sometimes feel like you want to try something new? And, for those who don’t appreciate the pumpkin spice latte, are you tired of seeing images of the PSL on your Instagram feed? Either way, I understand, and I’m here to help you.
1. Chile Mocha
In the past, Starbucks hasn’t had a great relationship with new drinks, but I think they’ve finally succeeded in creating the perfect fall drink! If you love the spicy flavor of the PSL, then the CHM is your ideal drink. Cocoa, cinnamon, and vanilla are mixed in with milk and espresso and topped with a dollop of whipped cream, ancho, and cayenne. Sizzling.
2. Salted Caramel Mocha
If you’re more of a conservative seasonal drinker and don’t want an excessive amount of autumn flowing into your mouth, then you should definitely consider the SCM. I honestly don’t know why this is only available in the fall, but because of my overwhelming gratitude that this drink exists, I’m not going to question it. Mocha and toffee nut syrup are blended in with coffee and milk, topped with whipped cream, a caramel drizzle, and a mix of turbinado sugar and sea salt.
3. Cinnamon Dolce Latte
One of the most underrated Starbucks drinks. Rich espresso is combined with milk and cinnamon dolce syrup, with whipped cream and even more cinnamon dolce syrup on top. So much warmth and happiness in one cup.
4. Caramel Macchiato (hot!)
This is my favorite drink and my typical order at Starbucks: a tall hot caramel macchiato. Coffee lovers, caramel lovers, and vanilla lovers unite! Most people buy the iced version, but for chilly autumn mornings, this is the perfect pick-me-up. Vanilla syrup, frothy milk, and rich espresso are layered above each other, finished with a signature caramel drizzle crosshatch.
5. London Fog Latte
A London what? Yeah, the London Fog Latte isn’t exactly the most well-known drink (hipster regulars at Starbucks claim that they knew about the LFL before it hit the menu). But, for someone who prefers something cool and edgy. The London Fog Latte is essentially an earl grey tea latte with lavender, bergamot, steamed milk and vanilla syrup -- and if you’re a tea person, you’ll love it.
6. White Chocolate Mocha
Sweet tooth folks unite! The white chocolate mocha blends creamy white chocolate sauce and steamed milk with espresso, topped with whipped cream. Prepare to slip into white, frothy paradise.
7. Chai Tea Latte
I guess I should’ve called this Chai Latte instead (since the words “chai” and “tea” are the same thing, and “chai tea latte” is a little redundant). But, for those who crave the spiciness of the PSL, the Chai Latte is perfect for you. Starbucks combines black tea infused with cloves, cinnamon, and other spices with steamy, foamy milk to create a perfect, year-round alternative to the PSL.
